If you’re a nature lover, many parks are set on the scenic lake waters so you can enjoy beautiful, sandy beaches and cool, clear waters. Come for the day or come for a week, there’s sure to be enough to do to keep you entertained and soaking wet.

1. Blue Bayou Water Park, Rouge

Top off your vacation getaway or escape for the day to Blue Bayou Water Park. The park has everything you could ask for to have a splashing great time and make some great memories. Adrenaline and adventure seekers will have a blast on the park’s unique rides and slides. Adventure down the Azuka, toted as the world’s largest tornado slide. You can’t miss the iconic purple and yellow tunnel. It’s a raft ride that will keep you screaming and laughing in delight.

Brave the rushing waters of the Conja slides or grab a sled and go whooshing down the exciting Flyin’ Pirogue slides. Everyone will love the rushing twists and turns of the huge High Water. For extreme, heart pounding adventure, rush down the ninety foot drop of the Lafitte’s Plunge speed slides. Race your friends on the mat racers for a wild good time. The Mad Moccassin will have you screaming in delight as you rush down the huge twists and turns.

Children will have a blast and get soaked at the awesome Pirate’s Cove area. With tons of fun, interactive features, play structures, cannons, rope ladders, slides, and of course, water, kids can splash and play the day away. If you came to swim, relax in the lazy river or make a splash at the Hurricane Bay wave pool. When you’re ready to dry off head over to Dixie Landin’, the exciting theme park filled with wild rides. With a whole host of rides, slides, exciting kiddie areas, cool pools, and plenty of room to kick back and relax, Splash Kingdom is the place to be for the ultimate in summer fun. For adrenaline junkies, there’s a host of exciting slides. The Big Bends and the Flash Flood will have you screaming through steep drops and having a blast on the rushing, wild twists. Grab a mat and rush headfirst down the amazing Bonzai slides.

The Monkey Business slide and Brett’s Blaster will have your heart pounding with crazy speeds, turns and drops. The Plunge and Pipeline drop slides will rocket you off into deep waters. Race a friend down the Cannonball slide, only to drop into the cool waters of the pool below. The Lagoon activity pool is perfect for people to relax or make a splash. For relaxing or splashing there’s the wave pool or the lazy river. Children will love the Kid’s Castle, a huge activity castle filled with tons of fun slides and wet interactive features. When you’re ready to dry off, engage in a game of sand volleyball. If you’ve worked up an appetite, no problem, the park has you covered with a great concession area.

Open seasonally, SPAR Waterpark has activities and slides that are sure to delight for hours. Bring the whole family down for the day and get ready to cool off in the park’s cool waters. The wild slides will keep the fun up a notch. The Constrictor Tube Slide takes riders through twists and turns all in the darkness of the enclosed flume. The Super Bowl Tube Slide is a blast. Riders will rush down the enclosed flume and drop into a huge bowl to whirl round and round before splashing down into the cool waters below. The Green Monster Tube Slide, Blue Dragon Body Slide and Twisted Serpent Body Slide are sure to satisfy even the most avid thrill seeker.

Children under 42” will love Splash & Play Island. The area features zero-depth entry, a great play structure, slides, water mushroom, tipping buckets, and a giant dumping bucket. Parrot Island was made just for kids 36” or taller. The area features a fun play structure, spray guns, huge slides and a dumping bucket. Kids and adults alike will have a blast at Patch’s Splash Pad, filled with geysers, fountains and tons of squirters; it’s a wet and wild adventure. The lagoon Pool is the perfect place to make a splash and swim. The lazy river is the perfect area to swim and cool down and for stronger swimmers there’s even a vortex, where you can put your skills to the test.  Grab a tube and float down the Raging River for hours of relaxation. If you just want to kick back and relax in the sun, there are lounge chairs, picnic tables and benches just for you.

The huge slides and cool pools are sure to offer hours of laughter and soaking wet fun. Whoosh down the Yellow Lunge, AquaTube and Purple Plunge slides for heart pounding adventures. Be sure to ride the huge Gator Bowl slide. The huge kiddie areas will delight all day with their many activities, play structures, and wet adventures. Thrilling slides make for hours of adrenaline rushing adventure. The kiddie areas, complete with huge play structure, water mushrooms, geysers, squirters, fun activities, and a massive dumping bucket, are a can’t miss. Kick back and watch the kids while you relax. Don’t miss out on the alligator slide or the water spraying snakes. Tots will have a blast in their own area which was designed just for small water lovers. 7. Cajun X Cables, Lafayette

Get ready to shred like the pros. Cajun X Cables is a unique park where overhead cables pull you through the water so there’s no need for a boat to enjoy your favorite watersports. Welcome to the white sand beaches and cool, clear waters of White Sands Lake. The Aqua Park is unique and a great way to have a roaring good time this summer. A host of blow up inflatables are sure to bring a smile to your face. The Blob Bag will have you flying through the air only to splash down in the cool lake waters. The Aqua Glide Slide is the perfect way to get soaked. Practice your flips and jumps on the water trampolines. There’s even one designed for children ages eleven and under. Also for eleven and under, there’s a jungle gym, of course set over the water. There are a ton of other wet activities including a see saw!
